PRONE TO WORRY or COMMIT TO PRAY (Acrostic)
P eople react to struggles differently
R esponding sometimes negatively
O bserving behavior in their family
N ow they choose their own remedy
E ven following ways of the enemy

T oo many rationalize their situation
O ften leading to despair or depression

W orked up about the cares of life
O nly causes deep anxiety and strife
R estless thoughts consume our mind
R esults as Satan uses any way to bind
Y et others are seeking answers to find

Or

C onsider the reason and purpose for trials
O nly then can we face them without denial
M aybe to test our faith or develop character
M any times to grow closer to the Savior
I nstead of becoming bitter, seek His face
T hen God will transform us by His grace

T o always fix our eyes on Jesus and eternity
O ur trials become smaller with all certainty

P raying about everything is the only way
R eleasing whatever concerns us each day
A ll it takes is talking to Jesus as our Friend
Y ields to experience His peace without end

Matthew 6:25a, 27 (NIV)
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life.
27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"

Romans 5:3-4 (NIV)
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we
know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance,
character; and character, hope.

Colossians 3:1-2 (NIV)
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts
on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus.
