Night, morning or noon, I can appreciate a warm cup of COFFEE.
Not too strong, no sugar, extra CREAMY;
This is the perfect beverage for ME.
Even if it's hot OUTSIDE.
I'd rather tell the truth than write a poetic LIE.
A good cup of coffee gets me HIGH.
Don't puff on cigarettes. Prefer not to swallow firewater.
I refuse to smoke stinky WEED.
Even on an empty stomach, in the midst of fasting,
other than Mother Earth's water, coffee is all I NEED.
When the mind is clear,
I begin to regognize previously unseen spider web.
As it's prey creeps closer,
I can even hear the countless footsteps of the CENTIPEDE.
Believe it or not, coffee seems to have a healing EFFECT.
Upon awakening with a moody attitude, after a sip or two,
I'm usually all SET.
Now I can go out and ride my bike in the rain
without becoming angry about being soaking WET.
The things we experience in life teaches us
some very valuable LESSONS.
I'm glad that God Almighty has led me to Positive Poetry
as a means of creative EXPRESSION.
Some say addiction comes with the office of being human.
This poem about coffee is my literary CONFESSION.
