June's Rhymes

Crepe Myrtle Trees and My Granny

Lovely Crepe Myrtle trees, all in a row
Showing their beauty in the sun's glow
They are majestic with a delicate scent
A soft odor, away with a breeze it went
Finding a nose to share it's light smell
It is accepted with a smile, without fail

My sweet Granny has these qualities I see
The gentle beauty of the Crepe Myrtle tree
For a hundred long years, she's been alive
Like the Crepe Myrtle tree, she still thrives
Her name is Myrtle and it fits her so well
A reminder of the Crepe Myrtle tree smell
