once upon a time

How many times have you opened your heart and home to someone
Only to have it rejected in an underhanded way?
This aspect of taking at face value is dangerous to our well being.
It wanders around in your mind wrecking all trust in humanity.

We can get it wrong but when we are told its OK
Nothing wrong with us and we accept people into our homes
On trust sometimes, if not at all times.
We have to look at our motives for helping.
Are they as altruistic as we think: perhaps

It helps us to seem better than our neighbour.
We do all we can then realise they have wronged us.
Who then is right you, him, her?
We took all at face value only to find they are nothing people.
I guess at the end of the day it was better to do something.
