How to Change
Always be quick to listen,
But never try to hasten;
As you speak for you might slip,
What you say through tongue and lip.
Think about the words that you seek,
And slowly say as you speak;
Anger comes quick as speed grows,
As wicked speech brings for woes.
Get rid of such behavior,
And think about your Savior;
Exactly what He might say,
How foul talk would make you stray.
The same for immoral acts,
The darkness that it attracts;
Do not let yourself be lured,
Rather indulge in the Word.
Humbly take the Word of God,
That you should honor and laud;
It is His Word that will save,
You from both death and the grave.
You may listen and forget,
But think before you regret;
For doing something in haste,
May show how fire will taste.
