If your afraid to be part of the solution
Aren't you then a problem of a resolution?
In our military I must admit
Not a day did I serve
But that does not mean
I lack conviction or nerve
There are many ways
to protect this awesome beautiful land
Sitting back in silence
does not equal a grand stand
Some may consider me bold
when I'm only being vocal
Because I stand firm for what I believe
and not sit back being idle
This country is in a terrible fix
and left idle will see no improvement
Unless we all stand up and speak
what is now will soon be absent
If your afraid to speak
what in you heart lies
Hesitation will only
lead to later silent cries.
The time to stand
is here and now
Let your voice be heard
beyond your daily head bow
Just remember
if those opposed have their way
Tomorrow may not allow
on bended knee to pray
I believe the Lord helps those
who try to help themselves
Ya know those that crawl down
off their safe bookshelves.
Its not always easy
to stand up for beliefs
You face controversy
at the very least
But consider the consequences
of the tongue that lies silent
Afraid to stand up
in fear of harsh judgment.
Those that speak with anger
instead of conviction
I find they are not sure
of their standing position
The current course laid out
well I see history books needing adjustment
Future generations could never understand
why we lost so much using poor judgment
Just remember the time is now
you either ignore or take a stand
For it is the children of tomorrow
whose future you now command
Oh sitting on the fence
is a safe bet for sure
Will the position you choose
leave much to endure?
It leaves you no voice
to later complain
Will your present silence
be the weakness in this chain?
I don't demand
that with me you must agree
But cant you stand for something
for all the world to see.
Let it be known to all
you have a beating heart inside
Think what is best for America
and then shout it out with pride.
Dont let it be in vain
for those who gave their all
Stand up with pride
answer their flagged coffin's call
Defend the freedoms
of this awesome land
Not asking of your life
just take an honorable stand
So if your not willing
to be part of the solution
Aren't you then a problem
