The Ways of People
Take note of when you attend a function
You will be amaze by you observation
By the way people will tend gravitate
To each other to socialize and communicate.
There will be those would talk about an era
Reliving those days with those from ala mater
Comparing the many changes that have occurred
And how what is being done now, then wrath would be incurred
Some would form a ready association
With those of a similar profession
Discussion the highs and lows of the day
And what changes can be implemented for a better way
Then one will find those who would have the gall
To think that about the others they stand tall
Standing aloof and displaying the lofty aura
Trying to indicate they are from a higher strata
A few such thoughts will entertain
That they are from a higher intellectual plain
Locked in a conversation and most certainly
Thinking that they have a little hegemony
Of course some will find to for some jokes
Others will discuss the days sports
And those who intend no conversation to hold
Will be firmly planted near the drinks or punch bowl.
Who can forget the ones who seem so at one
With those from their community's location
Catching up on the news of family and friends
And any other information to be dispensed.
It may be apparent that they are all having a good time
Talking and laughing and it seemed fine
Readily enjoying the confinement of a comfort zone
Nobody making an effort to have a little roam,
Not wanting that happy situation compromise
Will not take time to socialize
Defeating the whole purpose of the function
Which was to meet and at least meet one new person.
