The ServantsJust when despair triumphed over me Outstretched and drained from misery Shattered senses cried in distress Each tear imploring for justice Pave a way out of this darkness Heal my wounds comfort my spirit In utter shame for my defeat Nagging voice urged to accept death Eternal rest in the grave beneath Prayer an armour more potent Over sin when spirit do repent Merciful grace held in abeyance Poured as rain in abundance Extreme joy heaven has opened Yet sinner no longer condemned New melodies this heart can sing Amazed what mercy can bring Distraught but peace has come at last Eager this love I can impart Like the crimson dawning sky A new life with joy I can't deny Make this life a vessel of hope Even a light to guide the lost No trial hard enough to cope Defy damnation at all cost Elated to be His servant Zealous, content, exultant!
