The Past
There are those who put their lives in a morass
Evidently by holding on to some moments of the past
This can have limiting and inertial effect
And can be synonymous with the proverbial “millstone around the neck.”
Nothing in life always works out to one's satisfaction
But do no blame the past as the imposing restriction
Holding on to past failure and even opportunities can be a detractor
Also for you progress would be considered a very limiting factor.
We all have our share of body blows, and this have left some scars
But keep holding on will only provide some trepidation and hampers
Many of your other skill, manifested in a gave situation
For you, when having to establish any for m of relation.
So do not let the past and its actions form a sort of comfort zone
This state will bring to you something that you will condone
Since from experience it will be the only state you know
But you will have to a chance and change if you want to grow.
There is that saying that the things of the past dictate the way of the future
But how can you move on if those ways you still continue to nurture
Understand that sometimes innocence, naivety and trust was the leverage
Used by the more experienced to their advantage.
So do not feel downcast or despised by the past mistakes
Use them as lessons and tests as you reach for higher stakes
Then on looking back you could have acquire knowledge and the privilege
To gladly say, the past in now an effluence of water flowing under the bridge.
