What truly is a Judge made of ?
Is it strict legal compliance or a touch of love ?
Is it teaching a lesson to those who do crimes ?
is it hitting them in the wallet as they pay their fines ?
Is it listening to the battle of what the layers say ?
Is it the same grueling decisions day after day ?
Is it going home after each and every trial ?
Wondering if some one escaped the jury with a slick smile.
Is it looking at photos that will scar ones mind ?
Is it weighing and deciding how long one should serve time ?
Is it sitting and standing and sitting again?
Does it seem useless seeing the same offenders within ?
There's many questions I could ask,
but a true Judge has just one task.
It's to keep his eyes and ears open during the trial proceedings,
allowing the accused to get the fairest of meetings.
