Years given to raise your young
Sacrifice all yours not done
For mother is and mothers are
What GOD made you, who bares love scars
Your role vital to ones existence
That child, children, your hearts persistence
To make them what they are today
In prayers many on knees you've prayed
GOD knows each tear, each day you've shed
Sometimes heartache would pound in head
When one of yours would slide and bruise
When stealing home in game they'd lose
That Goldfish story you broke to them
When fishbowl sat empty and when
They came to check and ran to you
You seemed perplexed but broke the news
The husband lost but child you raised
To both you loved and love and praised
Though short I'll fall to give you thanks
A mothers love is love one banks
I wish you well upon this day
I pray loved ones will come and tell
