Poetic Verses
Keeping Words
Sometimes I need to hold on to the words
before they're fleeting like scared birds
who come to my path and then fly away
and leave the inspiration to lay
But the thought lingers and rattles the soul
to depths that nothing can control
Words resounding in the brain
an ache that echoes in the refrain
It's not enough to hear it play
I need to touch for them to stay
A tangible product to embrace
a memory of words to retrace
And so I make note and keep each thought
that can't be erased or ever taught
to inspire my thoughts to soar like birds
and thank them all for my keeping words
