Life On The Edge (Edgemont Street, Hollywood, California)

The silence breaks at 6 A.M. of church bells ringing
Neighbors awake and are seen on their patios waving to each other
If I see a wolf appear on the street below before he runs north to the Hollywood Hills, it will be a lucky day on Edgemont Street.

The hazy film of dawn bounces off of Spanish style buildings with arched windows revealing the first of the day workers and immigrants out to make a dinero, out to find hope
If I hear the innocent music of the ice cream man driving by this afternoon, it will be a lucky day on Edgemont Street

The street corners become loaded with colorful exotic fruits in boxes for sale, and the local church gives out free daily bread
Come, we share here in Los Angeles
Never forget that we are The City of The Angels
If I see the falcons flying ever so high above me, it will be a lucky day on Edgemont Street.

Outside my window, a panoramic view of downtown to the east, and LAX airport to the west
Takeoff!!
The Goodyear blimp glides thru the smog, and hangs like a fat voyeur in the sky watching the sunset take place in this famous city
Still hot and passionate at 6 P.M. ethnic sights and dinner smells disperse thru the air
If I go to sleep on the red and white print ladybug sheets, it will be a lucky day on Edgemont Street.
Happy that I did enjoy my life there.
