 Rumbling Thunder
Rumbling thunder, the lightning's crack!
A storm passes outside, I hear the rain.
Pounding, washing away the pollen and dirt;
A true gully washer, as the heavens opened up.
Rumbling thunder, the lightning's crack!
Pummeling rains, the wind whips the trees.
Flickering lights, into darkness I go;
Writing with a notepad and a flashlight.
Rumbling thunder, the lightning's crack!
Wondering about when the waters will end.
Reaching for the microwave, then the lights;
Habit enters when the darkness comes.
Rumbling thunder, the lightning's crack!
Candles dance as I sit and wait for power.
Entering into a time of peaceful thought;
Thankful for the silence of my machines.

The power was not out long.
