 once upon a time

FLIGHT

Are we to be refugees
in our own land?
To struggle, and fight
Then rush headlong into flight
Our meager belongings strewn
Throughout this violent land
No homes or hearths welcome us
No songs are sung to honour us
We are  victims:- in our own country 
we are AUSTRALIAN- disowned and dishonoured
We are the people of the genocidal white only policy
Our sorrows are the disgrace of all Australia
But we the  warriors have our songs, our culture.
We the refugees remain always doing
Battle with our constant enemy hunger
in the so called lucky land down under
