Until We Are No More
Promise me that you will bring
Flowers to grace, a song to sing
When I am gone for I will miss
What once was pressed against my lips
Read to me stories unread
Just like a child today spoon fed
For when you do your scent on hands
Makes strong again now weak your man
Keep me close though sleep I do
Tire a bit more than do you
As time is short and I long for
What I still hold as once before
Your touch of hand your smile that warms
My inner soul that battles storms
Where healthy was but is no more
My hope this routine does not bore
Your care for me brings me some hope
To hold unto to help me cope
With pain unseen but felt today
Maybe this time I'll go away
But for now please say once more
Before eyes close and too lifes door
Whisper and say I'll be OK
Into my ear with prayer prayed
Just one more thing before I go
Dance with me and make it so
Us again where you I've stored
Inside until we are no more
