Poetry For Everyday People
Walking Earth
Fools don't recognize,
rain drops raise,
somewhere between
our morning cup of coffee
and the first lie we hear,
a kiss gets broken,
fools don't recognize,
I've taken a wink home,
loneliness is an unchosen
path, such as the need to breath,
the constant need for what
it is we need,
fools don't recognize,
nothing's gained unlearned,
I'm afraid what I feel
has been killed by living,
and I stand alone with the blood
of knowing, daily war, experience,
fools don't recognize,
is it your soul or your soles?
rain drops raise,
somewhere between
our morning cup of coffee
and the first lie we hear,
a kiss gets broken,
fools don't recognize,
I've taken a wink home,
loneliness is an unchosen
path, such as the need to breath,
the constant need for what
it is we need,
fools don't recognize,
nothing's gained unlearned,
I'm afraid what I feel
has been killed by living,
and I stand alone with the blood
of knowing, daily war, experience,
fools don't recognize,
is it your soul or your soles?
