JOURNEYING

I’m on the train to anywhere
Unconcerned about destination.
Listening to the weighty thrum of
Wheels on steel, going anywhere.

I’m heading outwards glancing
At nowhere towns wondering why
People needed to arrive, to belong.
Guess they may as well stop somewhere.

On this crazy ride I will have endless
Charades of conversations unconcerned about nuances.
After all I’m journeying on to anywhere,
Where I boarded the train that was a destination

Now a memory shunted onto dead end line
Sharing thoughts with passengers pointless.
Why remember sad, bad, or good times?
We’re all journeying on the train to anywhere.
