 once upon a time

johnmcguckin78gmailcomheathergibsonjohnnyduncangeishashadowsontheheart
Dance me a dance. Embrace me gently.
Swirl me around. Go on dance me a dance.
Let’s forget the old used to be.
Just sway with me, stay with me.
Twirl me lightly around.
Tell me you love me, even if it is a lie.

Dance me a dance. Forget about tomorrows
We have only tonight and the music.
Love me tonight, don’t think about our yesterdays.
Holding you tightly in my arms
I feel as though I’m dancing the dance of life.
All thoughts of self cast aside. All I want is you.

Dance with me one more time, the music's still playing.
Why leave? Please glance back.
Don’t let me stumble around as you fade out of the light.
Dance back into my life, and let me tell you I love you.
Please dance me a dance even though I know it’s a lie.

I will dance with the lie.
All that I have left are the memories of you.
You're always in the dance hall of dreams.
As you walked away I wished you would tell me a lie
And say that you loved me.
