NOW YOU WANT TO BE LIKE ME

This happened when i was 12, but i wrote it now at 23 years old

What makes me different
I don't know
I just like to be myself
I don't want anyone to be me
I want to be known for me
I may not have a talent for making people laugh out LOUD
I may not have a talent for spotless skin
I may not have a talent for popularity
But i have many others inside
Things that make me who i am
I can make you laugh in a certain way
I can make you smile
I can tough your heart
I can make you cry in joy
I can make your day

But its not enough for you notice me

So i tried to be like you
Tried to fit in and be those kind of girls
I concealed my spots
I wore different things
And i tried to change my personality
I tried to act cool
I wouldn't drink and i wouldn't smoke
But the tomboy aired her trainers and her sneakers for now
Heels were so difficult, but i managed out ok
It just couldn't be
I didn't like who i was
I wanted people to like me for me
I got bored hanging out with people who have no interest in me

I couldn't pretend i didn't know why i did
Just to make you notice me
I feel so stupid i can't understand why

So to hell with all you
I aint going there

If i'm not good enough for you
I'll see you someday you'll regret this so bad
You'll even say you're sorry
You shouldn't have changed and tried to look like you have alot of fun
What you do for people aint lame

Now you find me on facebook
You say you're sorry
I had a horrible blast of air from the past
I can't believe i'd be so stupid, but i knew i wanted to be me every second i tried to make you notice me
Now you want to be like me

I don't to be your friend
Too close for comfort
I don't want you to get swept away coz your falling in too much detail
Of how you feel
I don't want to lead you on

You aint the one
