An amusing phase I can't forget
Lame images that I used to hate
Back when we both looked ridiculous
Everyone can't help but be amused
Remember the uproar in our class
Their taunting laughter made us blush
Our attires they said were war surplus
Yet their mockery became our war cry
Unruffled wings ready to soar up high
Longingly I recalled those moments
Elated how I stood for my dreams
Valiant to restore my shattered pride
Yes, a triumph for barriers I defied
Could have been a childish mischief
A joke with no intent to bring grief
But it made my resolution tough
And marched on though going was rough
Hard work needed to avoid defeat
Until the task is done never quit
Gain recognition without conceit.
