"A Blessing"
Oh, how we sometimes take for granted
The gifts . . . Great Spirit gave us, here on earth
Maybe our views on this subject, is slanted
And . . . We don't appreciate their worth
I am speaking of the animals, that roam
And the birds, that fly through the air
Domesticated ones, we allow in our home
Plus the ferocious beasts, we all fear
Great White Father, created these to please
Each with a name, and a purpose to fulfill
Ivory tusked Elephants, to Chimpanzees
From Lions, to Tigers, and the Whippoorwill
There is a chain, and its part of Nature
Great Spirit, full of knowledge, planned all
Mammals, of the deep, may offer a health cure
As Giraffe's, trimmed tree . . . That grow so tall
Nature has a way. . .So gently, It intermingles
With mother earth, sun, and waters so cool
Not being a separate entity, working in singles
But an ever evolving artistry, God's creative tool
Wild Buffalo have a place, as well as Wildebeest
And the Cheetah's. . .Running at such a fast speed
All Great Spirit's creations, from largest to least
For all, there was a reason . . . For all, a need
We gather to pray a blessing, on His creatures
Giving thanks, for each has a place in the land
Some ugly, some beautiful, with different features
Yet, all a wonderful part of Great Spirit's plan
For everything there is a purpose, under the sun
From Hippo's, Crocodiles, Alligators, or Shark
Inhabiting the Earth, created . . . One after one
And on each, Great White Spirit, left His mark
Knowing this, we will continue the blessing
For all creature's on ground, and flying above
All in perfect line with, Mother Nature, no guessing
These are gifts from Great White Spirit. . .And of Love
