Generation of Vipers

I write poems to serve the Lord.
His approval is my one reward.
It matters not what you may say
You can't hurt me in any way.

Those who know me need not ask
If attacking others is my task.
In fact the opposite is true
I try defending them from you.

If this upsets your apple cart,
Or kindles anger in your heart,
May I suggest that you're to blame.
You should have never smeared my name.

Truth will confront a blatant lie.
I'm tired of every alibi
You use to slap another's face.
Your actions do not reflect Grace.

You talk of God but it's just talk.
For you don't try to walk the walk.
Jesus had to face His foes...
Why call them SNAKES do you suppose?

May I remind you as you read
That you've planted an evil seed,
You're going to reap just what you sow.
God is not mocked...His Word says so.

Yes, God is love and it's still true
Forgiveness can still come to you.
But when you speak in disguised tones
You create a tomb of dead man's bones

Which will not rise above the stink.
Remember you ARE what you think.
To harbor hate gives hate control
And hate will surely damn your soul.

When prompted to speak out I will.
I have a purpose to fulfill.
Satan cannot block my path...
To try would bring down my God's wrath.

My Father, who looks into hearts,
Can verify what this imparts.
God's not impressed with things you do.
The praise of man is what moves you.

Attention is your main motive.
It underlines all that you give.
You may fool some but can't fool me
For the Spirit of the Lord can see

Past lips that flatter yet deceive.
You see, I can no more believe
In anything you say or do
Because I see no love in you.

Control is what you're all about.
One must comply or is kicked out.
If anyone dares to complain
You add a black mark to their name.

Shifting the blame is easy done.
Fingers were pointed at God's Son.
I'm sure you'll call this an attack,
But your knife is still stuck in my back.

I'm standing up in my defense.
What I have stated is intense.
And, believe me, it is meant to be
Who gives you the right to defame me?

You've hurt and criticized my friends.
Your animosity never ends.
Some things you've done are still untold.
May God have mercy on your soul.

I feel sorry for you in some ways.
Which is the part of me that prays
That God will somehow bring release
And grant this site His perfect peace.

Prayerfully Presented,

~~**AUTHOR'S NOTE**~~
I don't know if all of you have seen
the accusations against me on the
message board...but I was named as
being a troublemaker and attacker of
poets. My site is supposed to be
used to glorify and serve God, which
is its purpose, but ever so often I
am forced to use it in defense of
attacks against me and my fellow poets.
I prayed and asked God about this poem
I've written in defense of myself. He
spoke to me through a preacher friend.
Just because I'm a Christian doesn't
make me a doormat for the devil to
walk all over. Jesus, when verbally
attacked, didn't mince words. He called
a viper a viper! There is such a thing
as righteous anger and in this poem
I am venting this righteous anger.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited
tombs, which indeed appear beautiful
outward, but are within full of dead men's
bones, and of all uncleanness."
Matthew 23:27

""Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers,
how can you escape the damnation of Hell?
Matthew 23:33

"Be not deceived: God is not mocked: for
whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also
reap."
Galatians 6:7

"As a man thinketh in his heart: so is he..."
Proverbs 23:7

"Ye are of God, little children, and have
overcome them: because greater is He that
is in you, than he that is in the world."
1 John 4:4

"But the tongue can no man tame: it is
an unruly evil, full of deadly poison."
James 3:8

"But all their works they do for to be
seen of men, they make broad their
phylacteries, and enlarge the border of
their garments."
Matthew 23:5
