COLD WINTER DAY
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
I have a story of a lil girl,
Five feet tall with little curls,
Having fun with the other girls;
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
Her eyes as blue as the ocean and sea,
Her hair was as gold and bright as can be,
And a smile so big like her mother was she;
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
She had a mother, a father,
A little brother too
A dog she called Roger,
And a fish simply called blue.
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
All this was left behind,
On that cold day of mine,
So many feelings left behind;
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
On the way back from school one day,
At the park she decided to play,
"Tag your it!" are the words she would say.
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
A very young guy,
Who, decided to drive
After 12 whole beers went out for a ride;
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
He did not see her crossing,
His reaction was slow and pausing,
Of all the drinks he had been tossing;
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
Later on, On the hospital bed,
Came the sad news to the parents that said,
"I'm sorry sir, we tried but she's dead..
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
Because of his drinking and driving,
There's a family there crying,
A father who keeps denying,
That his lil girl has passed away;
.. On That Cold Winter Day..
Please people I beg of you today,
Don't take one more child away,
Lets not loose another one
Like the one on that winter day.
