At a Dungog cafe during the Film Festival...
Not a Paris side-walk cafe -
this place we sit
and window gaze -
as the figures pass in darkness -
as the country
music plays...
Just a cafe in the country -
spilled with people
acting smart -
with a taste for film
and theatre -
and a little slice of art...
Hats on heads - angled awkward -
trying trendy
but off key -
boots to thighs
and scarves all flying -
pretty girls -
all legs and knees...
Cappuccinos - hot and steamy -
with exotic
frothy feel -
taste as good
as the city -
but this country air
is real...
