The Big  Wave

It was a very bright morning in the  village
The people were running  around  enjoying the privilege
Of basking in and enjoying the  golden rays of the sun
Everyone gathered by the playground to have a bit of fun

But something strange was happening in the animal kingdom
They were running around in a very strange and abnormal pattern
It seems as though they were running around more like a stampede
This strange phenomenon was a something  the people could not read.

This old man a sort of recluse  so tattered and so shabby
He painted a picture to all that was not complementary
Coming into the village and his loud voice sounding a warning
Telling them something is up and vacate before morning.

When he spoke they  laughed, and he they threatened to beat
Why is this  smelly old man stinking up our beautiful street
Why does he think something is going to happen because a few animals are running
The updated technologies have  not indicated any sort of warning.

This happened before when I was little boy it was great pain
I thought I would have never seen it in  my lifetime again
My grandfather too  then brought  the news and  he too was disparaged
And like me, he too was laughed at and was harassed

Let me tell you all now get yourself  immediately to higher ground
Otherwise for you the consequences  would be quite profound
I have already packed and will be moving to the mountain
Kindly follow me and get there before morning.

Follow you they said we are all glad to be rid of you old man
Your presence brought great  problems to this land
Always tattered so  distant and looking so  unkempt
That is why here from everything you were exempt

He made his way quickly and quietly out of town
There were shouts of "Go old fool and good riddance!" all around
He looked around at them and tearfully  whispered  goodbye
They were not convinced no matter how and yes he did try

Halfway up the mountain he decided to take a look back
My how that beautiful day has darkened and it was  a fact
He cast his eyes to the seas and how his old heart began to race
A high wave was coming across the water at such a rapid pace

Somehow he may have thought he heard their frantic cries
Glory be the water seems to be reaching as high as the skies
All that was audible was the  uncontrollable cries of help over the merciless water
Then there was silence  so  deafening  like no other.
