 That Soft Place
Inside our heart of hearts lies a field;
Gentle breezes blow, flowers blossom.
Soft and peaceful, embracing our soul;
Loving us for being simply who we are.
This soft center is always there waiting;
Ready for us to come and find peace.
All we need to do is drop all our baggage;
Then enter the doorway unencumbered.
While there, I wonder why I ever leave;
Why do I venture back out into the world?
Life beckons, I have my responsibilities;
Not a recluse, I'm unable to stay forever.
Yet, that sweet drink of cold crisp water,
Pulled from the well in that center within.
Nothing could be more refreshing, relaxing;
Than to spend some time in that soft place.
