is it revolutionary to dream and plan
of a land where our ancestors will one day
be remembered and considered legendary,
or is that thought too scary;
Our prime leaders rise only to end up buried
6feet deep with a one page biography.
Black History month seems to get shorter every
year.
no more marches or parades on M.L.K's Earthday,
only states debates whether or not it should
be considered a holiday to celebrate.
Affirmative action put Blacks in action, but
like crabs in a barrel, these same affirmative
action appointed officials vote for bills to
terminate that action(those bastards)
I guess they've forgotten the struggle,
I guess they don't remember the pain
of raising someone elses child and trying
to love him/her as their own, while their
children are at home missing their fathers.
The fight continues but we are losing true
soujas faster than Black businesses go out of
business.
Not only to death in the streets, but also
because the ones that acquire some riches
turns around and weds the ones that uprooted
us from our natural born breeches.
Going against the grain does not ease the pain,
just makes it harder to explain to our seeds
why Blacks don't own anything
worth more than cars and expensive jeans
