Pace to keep ahead of me
Mirages a fool thinks he sees
A better place where no more us
Can be found but finally trust
This heart of ours seems as of late
Becomes more than we need on plate
There is room I'm sure to squeeze
Another cry, another plea
To calm the storms that roam within
A soul that's been there now once has been
Much at peace, so free to say the least
So once again, we must decrease
These thoughts that run a marathon
Of great proportion now long gone
Another day for some maybe
For those that think it's one they see
From outside but if they knew
They'd see the new has checked out too
Another day seems at times fruitless
Yet hold to fast as more becomes much less
In search of peace you've heard and told
Where pulse has stopped and grown stone cold
