Poetic Verses
The Proposal
The beautiful moonlight dancing on the still water
The gentle breezes rustling the leaves from all quarters
Holding your soft hands and we walked across the sand
This very feeling in me was getting more than I could stand
Approaching slowly to the steps to our hotel
Those moments of togetherness a great apprehension was dispel
Why should I hesitate, that moment must be close
I think it is time form me to sum up the courage to propose
First let me sit think and see what plan can I formulate
The timing and pace of the action I must regulate
What must i do as a form of distraction not to deviate
Because still her attention I have to captivate
To me the moment should be at dinner time
Let the band play some music, then some roses and a bit of wine
Then as the final act I will go on my knees
This scene will have the effect to surely please
Then I will not forget to seize this very chance
To hold her close and engage in a very slow dance
I have to be cool, careful as I would like to see that look of surprise
That would be emitted when that sparkle comes from her eyes
As if by some form of magic all the light were dim
This was the signal that it was time for the show to begin
Then at my cue there was light and it was bright
Then I fell on my knees with a show of great delight
In that glass of champagne which the bring
Contained the most sparkling diamond ring
As together we drained our glasses her eyes froze
Then I pulled her near in a poetic verse propose.
