Upcoming Trials
Do not be shocked what lies ahead,
That you might wish that you were dead;
Upcoming trials that will test,
To see if you will do your best.
Do not feel if something is strange,
But not let your attitude change;
For what that might happen to you,
Could be the same as with Job too.
But be happy within your prayer,
Of the sufferings that you share;
With the Christ who already knows,
The suffering through all the woes.
Then you will surely be so glad,
No longer room for to be sad;
When once again Christ reappears,
And will chase away all your fears.
If insulted as of His name,
Through the Holy Word you proclaim;
Then you are blessed by the Spirit,
By His glory through your merit.
If you suffer what you proclaimed,
No need for you feeling ashamed;
Rather praise God what He has done,
For the sacrifice of His Son.
