Of School Years and Adult Tears
There was just once, upon a time
A place where one had spent some time
Where innocence walked hand in hand
Where hallway wall our pictures hang
The days of kick the can outside
Along with break the chain abide
Right here, and now inside my heart
Today the past replays these parts
Chapters where Spelling Bee I'd win
Monsignor days and smaller things
Also like me not picked at times
Because my height of me they'd find
These days of old today bring tears
Of friendships made as halls are cleared
Of memories that hung on them
Today the past plays requiem
Queen of Peace my Alma mater
Today more so in me does matter
As doors today will close forevermore
When 8Th grade grads march out it's doors
These things that played a major role
I'll take with me this day my soul
Will weep school years and adult tears
Though long ago, they'll stay endeared
