Looking Back

I'm looking back when you were here
when you showed me, there's none to fear.
Now you're gone, I feel lost and alone.
You're with God, standing at his throne.
I'm looking back at the times we've shared;
All those times we laughed and cared.
Now you're gone like yesterday,
I find myself wishing, you were here to stay.
It feels like a dream, you not here with me;
you're with God, that I see.
I'm looking back when you were here
when you showed me, there's none to fear.
Now you're gone, yet I still mourn;
I remember your smile that never scorn.
I'm looking back now and again
to those times we joked back then.
It's emptiness I feel without you;
I know you love me too.
I thank God for those memories of you and I;
still I can't help myself but to cry.
