We all fall down

So much has been lost through lies and deception
until the ground once solid below us now crumbles
foundations we all looked too for guidance and strength
fall like leaves from a tree in autumn, tarnished with death
destruction rains down upon our heads through greed of wealth
yet still we gamble with stocks and shares
still we gamble with the lives of our brave hearts
still we gamble with the very fabric of civilisation
a civilisation of supposed civilised people?
a civilisation that claims intelligence and intellect as guidance
a civilisation that claims God for their spiritual self
yet still lives with immorality as their constant companion
we are all to blame yet most still innocent of understanding…
understanding that if the ground below us crumbles
we all fall down!
