Hello my precious Papa Ish,
I'm thinking of you intently on this day
With pen in hand I write in memory of you going away
Yes... today marks the first year anniversary
Leaving friends and family behind with tears of many
We can only imagine what was happening then
At heaven's gates when you entered in
Greeting you was friends and family waiting
As your arrival they had been anticipating
As for those of us that you left behind
We too look forward to reuniting in God's time
It's not the same without you for each passing day
Mama Dori still writes but you left a void by going away
Although she has many fans she misses her number one
For a piece of her heart went with you when you left for home
There's nobody here with words that could ever replace
The sweetness of her gentle giant she seen looking into your face
A humble soul you were and a stranger you never met
That is why your memory none will ever forget
I was so blessed to talk with you on the phone
With a fragile whisper you told me you loved me before going home
It was too short of time Papa... only months we shared
Mama Dori reminded me on my birthday how much you cared
I've had to say good-bye to so many I have loved
I thank the Lord we'll be reunited someday in heaven above
I know that none is placed in our path outside of God's plan
I'm thankful if but for awhile the love of a heart adopted Papa I had
Then again it never dies even though you are gone
For in all the lives you touched the love you shared lives on
Thank-You for your love and prayers even now
Our guardian angel watching over us through heavenly clouds
I miss you Papa and someday we'll meet face to face
For the longest while both you and Mama Dori I'll embrace
