Modesty
What's the problem do you suppose
With the English Male and naked toes?
It must be there deep in the mind
But every year you will find
Chalk white male legs on display
At the merest hint of a sunny day.
But try as hard as you might
there's scarcely a naked toe in sight;
Perhaps they think the ladies shocked
At sandaled feet openly unsocked.
Ah, that the problem I suppose,
The effect on ladies of naked toes.
So in defence of modesty's cause
We display our emotion just in doors;
No, there's no place for male naked feet
On public display in an English street.
