DATING GAME YEARS AFTER

I'm married our first Valentines day
The wife greets me at the front door
She hands me this heart shaped card
I see the envelope on the table
Lipstick kisses end to end and hearts
"You're going to have to explain this?"
Through all the mushy remarks I read the name
"Oh, that's really nothing that was Larry's girlfriend."
There was picture enclosed, she is still beautiful
"I will call your bluff!" and she hands me the phone
I hear a voice. She has already dialed the phone
"It's for you!" "Dear, I would love to meet you!"
Wife whispers, "I invited her to come over."
"You what?" My wife is devious and sure of herself
I find myself giving directions on the phone
The phone rings. She is lost two blocks away
I find her in a phone booth, she pulls me in.
She is oblivious to the red light nearly killing us
At the apartment the two girls a giggling forgetting me

*End of story. I introduced her to my best friend.
He is in love she is not. She disappears in the night
It is like being haunted. Will she someday return?
I hope not the wife loves making me look silly
