Deviating Culture
There is some concern and talk about the grave danger
That some countries are now facing the death or disappearing of their local culture
But who is to blame if those forerunners do not make it a factor
To pas those cultural relics to those who are coming after.
As a writer once say that a little learning is a dangerous thing
And of course there are many and wonderful changes it always bring
So since the opportunity allow them to get a better education
They quickly put any remnants of their culture in the background.
Remember we are living an age fraught with all type of technology
This has provided medium for them to be influenced quite readily
Using the technology being impressed by the other country's cultural diversity
An because of this the people are projected as being wealthy.
Never discount the power any cultural event has on a country
This will bring some financial gain to any economy
And visitors willingly find time to take part in the festivities
Each depicting remnants of the particular sector of the country's history.
As a little boy I used to take joy to listen to the village old ladies
Telling stories handed down to them by there mommies and daddies
Some of these I still remember quite well and too will pass them down
To some of the little children all around, thus keeping them on someone's tongue
Then how can those cultural saying be put over to stimulate interest
Because the environment is not conducive to this
Perhaps the language used was not encourage, as some may feel ashamed
Because in a sense some people try to forget the background from whence they came.
In some countries that are blessed with a culture diversity
Sometimes used this asset to great advantage quite readily
Allowing in some cases some facets to carry on some of their indigenous ways
And take guided tours through those areas depicting the many traditional displays.
So let us not be despair that our children are avoiding their culture
Gone are those days when singing those folk songs were a feature
We have provided them with all the comfort of all the latest gadgets and technologies
How can we expected them to pay attention as we give verbal stories.
Since they are grounded in the seat of the modern technology
Why doesn't anyone put them on the I-pods or those CD
Make them attractive and in the music and latest beat they appreciate
Thus hoping that some area is reach and that attention is stimulated.
