SILENT WALKING

SILENT WALKING

Silent walking stretches memory
Into sunnier youthful times.
Playing hide and seek stealing stealthily
Along shouting boo, you're on it.

Playing once again games of innocence.
Cherished sounds of laughter found in
Childish glee chasing wraiths of self.
Fleeting forms scampering happily away,
And I, cheerfully enjoying the silent walking,

As it jolts consciousness back experiencing
Other innocent games played, in mesmerizing
Golden times that fade, with each new dawn.
Silent walking with grandchildren, realising,
I'm not to old to play.

Childish shouts, inspiring youth albeit, momentary
Receding glances of, sepia boyhood brought
Forwards into middle age chasing children,
And you, realising these are their silent walking
Moments knowing one day they Will glance back,
Into childhood years.
