It's so easy to forget,
when life doesn't proceed
the way your perception
believes that it should,
that not everyone is
made like you.
It's so easy to imagine
a life custom made, when
you let your mind and your
heart start to feel what it
so wants to feel, though it
may not yet be true.
It's so easy to lose sight
of what's right in front of you,
when you watch the life that
others have unfold with envy,
instead of keeping your eye
simple and new.
It's so easy to throw away
a precious gift that's already
within your grasp, when you
convince yourself it shouldn't
be yours, although God has
deemed you are due.
It's so easy…
Let life evolve.
It's so easy…
Let love emerge.
It's so easy…
Don't make it so hard.
It will be so hard to
suppress a smile each time
you think of how far you
have come, when you allow
life to pour out its abundance
all for you.
It will be so hard not to
breathe in with sweet sighs
as you come to realize that
life is what you make of it,
each day a gift given to
pleasure anew.
It will be so hard to
remember a time without
the hope and trust that grows
from the knowledge that
you are who and what God
meant for you.
It will be so hard to then
believe there was ever a dawn
that didn't begin with the
song of love in your soul
echoing ever outward in
everything you do!
