OLD TIMERS AND NAME ASSOCIATIONS

Never forget a face
Names sometimes allude me
I was at this social event
This woman looked quite familiar
I saw her everywhere I went
I finally had to admit,
"Mam, I know you well but
It was embarrassing,
your name eludes me!"
She said, "That's OK,
It was from the birthday party
your sister's and I held for you
Call me Mom and I will call you son."
It is old timers I guess
I remember this politician
He taught me to use word associations
After meeting three thousand people
He met me later in the evening in the Men's room
He said, "Hi, Dandy, how are you doing?"
I was amazed asked him how he did it.
He told me about word associations
He said he had a friend named Dan Evans
Ex Governor Dan Evans I believe
And my last name began with "D"
So he remembered me as Dand--D
Just remember something about the person
Then when you need to associate it.
So the next time this woman was always around me
But I had no problem with her name
So in introductions I used word association
Finally she said to me, "Dandy,
You can introduce me as your wife but
"Big Boobs", is just a little embarrassing."
