those skilled hands firmly
massage away the strain
suddenly there is warmth
where there once was pain

and then the needles
that I used to fear
placed with precision
here and here and here

and I relax
in a pain free zone
for the moment
all discomfort gone

and slowly
through it all
I am starting to unbend
and once again stand tall
