A LITTLE GAL NAMED SAL

From the day I found her website
I knew that Goodolesal
Was not an ordinary
Kind of gal.

I never stopped to think about why
Sally's poems could make me cry
And then in just a little while
She transformed my tears
To a happy smile.

As I read more of her poems
I could see
That this young woman
Was a blessing to you and to me.

Just tell her about you
And before you know it
Your words have been embedded
Into the heart of this poet.
And then transcribed
By her magical hand
Into a work of art
For all to understand.

One day I read Sally's poem
About her Mama
Who was in Heaven,
But also lived in her heart.
Yes, I knew that Sally and her Mama
Would never be apart.

But I also knew that this lovely girl
For whatever it was worth
Could use a second Mama
Who lives right here on Earth.

So one day
What I decided to do
Was to write her a note
And this is true:
"Sally," I wrote
"I have sons but no daughters,
Can I adopt you?"

Typical of Sally
She responded
Without fail.
       Her words?
"The adoption papers
Are in the mail."

So I am pleased to tell
All of you,
That I'm now officially
Sally's "Mama2."
