The Silence in me

I sit quietly in my home
where whispers can go free,
I open up my ears to hear
the silence that is me.

In the corner of the room
where I humbly sit alone,
thoughts begin to wander
as I think of the unknown.

All the questions float
inside my forgetful mind,
the ones I do not ask
when words are hard to find.

They become memories
of the many "I don't knows"
if I had asked and learned
instead of listening with my toes.

I would have that knowledge
of "Know how" inside my head,
I regret I didn't listen well
to what others had even said.

I'll wake up from life's dream
and open my ears to sound,
what was once lost to silence
is now listened to and found.
