Stuttering in my Head

I was thinking there quietly
when I got stuck on a word,
I tried to understand myself
and what my mind had heard.

I just sat there in a stupor
and my thinking was no good,
drool fell from my mouth
and landed where it should.

Stuck in a mental fumble
as I tried to think it through,
then I found success at last
at what my mind could do.

I began to think better
for the first time that day,
when you hit me on the head
my stutter had gone away.
