My Place in the Closet

Welcome to my perfect place
in the closet where I hide,
I made it all warm and snug
and very comfortable inside.

There's a blanket on the floor
and clothes are hanging near,
my kids know where to find me
from all the farts they hear.

My tears find place to fall
in my closet when I cry,
nobody else can hear the sobs
when I have to say goodbye.

My kids go to see their Dad
and it leaves me all alone,
I have fallen asleep in there
with a pillow and the phone.

It may seem rather strange
for an adult to hide away,
when I am upset or angry
that's where my feelings stay.

My enemies are almost nil
as I have chosen to ignore,
there are no relationships
when I shut the closet door.
