Flightless in Love
I once flew high in trust and love
with wings that set me free,
I looked forward to every moment
when I had you here with me.
You promised that you'd be there
then you left me without wings,
you took away my happiness
and the laughter that love brings.
Without my wings I fell hard
into deep silence and despair,
you were my one and only love
now my feelings are beyond repair.
Never again will I care enough
to share the feelings of my heart,
I once soared above the clouds
until you caused me to fall apart.
Forever flightless for true love
I dropped with your goodbye,
you took my hopes and dreams
now I cannot reach the sky.
My peace of mind went with you
leaving me to face the day,
there is nothing left to feel
since you took my love away.
