Clogging Competition

We all moved in motion
to the rhythm of the beat,
the competition was getting hot
as we fancily moved our feet.

I stood proud as I danced along
in my favorite clogging shoes,
the music went through my head
and we weren't about to lose.

I was a part of the front row
that set the stage on fire,
I was a quick one on my feet,
clogging was my greatest desire.

I was good and I had talent
at the age of twelve years old,
I was a natural at clogging,
good enough to win the Gold.

Although we came in third place
I still considered it won,
all that really mattered was
that for me it was a lot of fun.

Now when Mom hears the radio
and flashdance is on the air,
she points it out as my song,
I once clogged to it with such flair.
