Poetic Verses
Termites
Their appearance proves not to be a very inviting sight
Seeing that brown mass certainly evokes disgust certainly not delight
Those who were affected most certainly and clearly understood
That the wood they have is now reduces to being of little good.
Well all know that sign, when in that very instance
That those white ant give wind of their ominous presence
In essence the wood in now ready to be dispose
Those creatures are have in their system an organism that digest cellulose.
Remember now there is a similar organism also somehow
Lives in the gut of the larger animal the cow
We can sit and watch it as its cud it will chew
Thus breaking down the cellulose in the plants too,
But can we apportion all the blame to those them
Is it that man had invades and strained their ecosystem
Felling and making lumber form perhaps some fairly young trees
That may be quite conducive to those termite colonies
It may be some consolation to get those wood treated
But sometimes they are there and have themselves firmly planted
Some may die but the survivors ,may have numbers and enough
To continue and reduce your pile of wood to woodworm dust.
However do not always see them as a problem
If we study them, we could also make them helpful to the system
Perhaps hold them, regulate and find some way to contain
Then we can make use of the gas they synthesize, this is methane
Imagine a place which is designated to termite farming
Being monitored, studied subjected to a system that is controlling
So that the generated methane can be sourced more safely
This certainly will have an impact on the country's economy.
