Sweet Memories
Open up sweet memories
that fill the soul with glee,
you never know what may show
or what's inside of me.
In a heart of tenderness
hidden from your view,
a wall built out of honesty
to keep inside what's true.
I look at you and wonder
what's inside your being,
I don't know your inner thoughts
it's the outside that I'm seeing.
I hold on to distant memories,
I can see you in a way,
I carry much in thought
but the past has gone away.
